Layered pairs of vellum are hung around a room. These are pages of a book, to be read in a sequential loop as one circulates the space. The top sheet is a scan of blue acrylic on newsprint distorted from the presence of from the water in the paint. content. Slightly visible through the top sheet is text that has been scratched into the vellum sheet beneath. The horizon of the blue swatch increases in elevation from left to right and as the text is read, as if the reader and the content of the piece are further and further underwater. This is a transcription of a conversation between the artist and her physically impaired and terminally ill sister discussing how she is adapting to physical constraints and times when she has escaped her identity to occupy a more able being, as a coping mechanism.
